2020-2021 Fall Athletics
It is the vision of the Harford County Public Schools Interscholastic Athletic Program to foster a culture which promotes academic achievement, athletic excellence and upstanding character in all student-athletes. We believe student-athletes need to develop skills that enhance good sportsmanship, ethical decision making, relationship skills, resiliency, and the value of fair play through structured competition. Toward that end, coaches, students, and parents should be aware of school, county and state policies and procedures that support these goals. Students who have elected to participate in the athletic program will be required to practice and participate in scheduled contests after regular school hours and possibly on non-school days. The supervision of practices, games and travel will be provided by HCPS and the school.
General Participation Guidelines:
- A physical examination by qualified medical personnel submitted on the HCPS physical form. This exam shall be valid from June 8 through the following June 7.
- Medical insurance covering the sport in which the student wishes to participate.
- The athlete and parent/guardian are financially responsible for any and all athletic equipment issued to the participant if not returned to the school.
- Students must meet all eligibility requirements as set forth by the MPSSAA (Eligibility code 13A.06.03) and the Harford County Board of Education (Participation in Extracurricular Activities)
- Payment of the participation fee of $100 after rosters has been established. Families that qualify for FARMS are exempt from this fee.
