Philosophy

Randallstown High School supports the philosophy that a student centered and educationally based interscholastic athletic program is vital as part of to the social, physical, and educational development of our students. Our interscholastic athletic program supports the academic mission of our school, promotes increased achievement and well-being of all of our students. Our program strives to prepare our students with the skills necessary to succeed as well-rounded citizens through sportsmanship and teamwork.

Randallstown High School as part of the Baltimore County Public Schools:

Our interscholastic athletic program shall be conducted in accordance with existing BCPS Board of Education policies, rules, and regulations. While both BCPS and RHS take pride in winning and the success of our teams, neither condone a “win at all costs” mentality.  We discourage pressures and philosophies that may tend to neglect good sportsmanship, safety, and promotion of healthy ideals.

Our Athletic program is for all enrolled students who are able to participate by qualifying under the eligibility rules, as well as adhering to the rules as set forth by the state, county, and school officials.  We believe that participation in athletics will contribute to the following:

1. Supporting all participants in efforts to achieve credible and measurable academic progress and success; making a positive contribution to the general educational program of Randallstown High School.
2. Improvement in the health, fitness and general welfare of all individuals taking part in the program
3. Engaging the maximum number of students in all areas of the teams and programs promotes citizenship and a positive school climate.
