Saddle River Day School
Home of the Rebels
At Saddle River Day School, we believe that sports are an essential component of the SRDS experience. Our aim is to foster a secure environment that encourages accomplishment, fair play, integrity, sportsmanship, and overall well-being. We see the values instilled through athletic participation as an extension of those learned in academic classrooms at SRDS. Developing a robust work ethic, collaborating within a team, respecting leadership and peers, practicing self-discipline, maintaining commitment, loyalty, perseverance, effective communication, accountability, conflict resolution, and taking pride in achievements—these are all life skills that a robust athletic program enhances.
All our athletic teams currently compete under the Constitution of the State governing body (NJSIAA) and adhere to the rules and regulations of the New Jersey Interscholastic Conference (NJIC) League.
Our Athletic Programs are inclusive and encourage every student to participate and excel. We strive to build a culture of concern and mutual support among students and staff. Social values such as caring for others, treating everyone with respect, affirming diversity, and being a responsible group member are clearly stated, recognized, and modeled by all coaches and staff. Our athletic department is committed to the fair treatment of all individuals, regardless of race, gender, or religion. Our mission emphasizes dedication to diversity, creating a fully inclusive department. With a balanced approach of building competitive teams and imparting life skills through sports, we also aim to instill a passion for lifelong physical fitness and wellness.
SRDS Athletics provides student-athletes with the privilege and responsibility of representing the School, the student body, the sport, their team, and the greater community with the utmost respect. All students participating in school-sponsored athletics or activities must agree to abide by Board Policies, State and League Administration Rules, the SRDS Student Code of Conduct, and individual team training/playing rules and regulations. Athletes are expected to be positive role models for other students and community members.
Ensuring safety is our top priority, and in compliance with the guidelines and requirements of the State of New Jersey, all SRDS student-athletes must complete the Athletic Registration Process for each athletic season before participating.
NEW Athletic Registration Program:
For your convenience, all required State/League/School participation forms, including the Pre-Participation Exam Form (PPE) (formerly Part A) and the Health History Update Questionnaire (formerly Part B), can now be submitted electronically to the SRDS Health Center for each sports season. Alternatively, you may choose to print out the forms and return them in person under the same guidelines and timelines as indicated.
Thank you for your support and patience as we leverage new technology and advancements in communication without compromising the security and safety of our students and families.
FormReleaf:
FormReleaf is a password-protected and encrypted program provider that facilitates paperless registration and policy/form agreement. Your personal account will house your family's history, making the seasonal athletic registration process very convenient and user-friendly.
